NAIHC and AMERIND Annual Convention and Tradeshow

May 8, 2019
Denver, CO

Kevin Klingbeil presented to attendees of the National American Indian Housing Council (NAIHC) and Amerind Annual Convention and Trade Show on May 8 and discussed how tribal data collection and data-driven planning activities can be used to demonstrate both community need and tribal capacity to funding sources within the context of competitive grants. After identifying the ways in which successful navigation of the design, implementation and utilization stages of a project demonstrate tribal capacity, Kevin proposed alternate or additional ways in which tribes and funding sources could attach value to tribal data collection and planning efforts. He also provided a wide range of examples of creative and financially productive ways in tribes have used the data that they have collected.
