Project Description
The Veterans Housing Needs and Homeownership Study was conducted by Big Water Consulting in cooperation with the Cheyenne River Housing Authority, Oglala Sioux Lakota Housing, and Sisseton Wahpeton Housing Authority and with support from the South Dakota Native Homeownership Coalition, Enterprise Community Partners and Lakota Funds. Big Water Consulting developed targeted intercept surveys of veterans that were administered by local partners, and Big Water staff conducted focus group discussions with veterans on each of the three reservations. The data gathered through this process will help tribal housing authorities, Tribal Veteran Service Officers, and others better understand the circumstances, challenges, and needs of veterans in each community and then develop and fund tailored programs to help address these collective concerns.
