Project Description
Big Water Consulting coordinated with SISC and its partner stakeholders, including United Indians of All Tribes Foundation, Seattle Indian Health Board, Chief Seattle Club, Mother Nation, Cowlitz Tribal Health Services and many other Native service providers, to design and implement a survey that assessed the need for urban Native housing and other vital services in King County, Washington (including Seattle). Information collected using survey, focus groups, and interviews demonstrated the needs of the Native population in the urban core of King County and will help guide the Commission’s planning efforts for supportive services and a new 160-unit affordable housing development. Interviews with Native service providers, members of the Native homeless community, and Native college students and graduates provided additional depth and context for the interpretation and application of survey results.
