Red Cliff 2023 Tribal Census Presentation

04/28/2024

Big Water team members visited Bayfield, Wisconsin on the week of April 28th to present the results of the Red Cliff 2023 Tribal Census to Red Cliff's Tribal Council and community members. The event was further enriched by breakout sessions, providing a platform for community members to share their experiences firsthand and respond to the initial results.

This project is the continuation of an ongoing data collection effort that began with the Red Cliff Tribal Census in 2018. The goal of the most recent Tribal Census was to update the existing dataset, enabling longitudinal analysis and evaluation of trends crucial for supporting strategic decision-making and grant applications.

As the third collaborative project with Red Cliff in the last 6 years, this endeavor offers a unique opportunity to delve into trends over time while directly addressing current needs. The survey emphasized housing needs while seeking to understand other pressing community concerns such as the demand for behavioral health services, job training opportunities, childcare, and transportation options.

Thank you to the Red Cliff Planning Department, Housing Authority staff, and tribal leadership for their support at every phase of this project. Special recognition is reserved for Survey Manager Liz Boyd and the dedicated field staff team for their effort, and for the members of the Red Cliff community who shared their time and thoughtful responses, making the project a success.
