Project Description

The Tulalip Tribes Community Needs Assessment has been set in motion to assist the Tulalip Tribes in collecting relevant, accurate, and comprehensive data about the characteristics, demographic trends, and other needs of the communities of the Tulalip Tribes. The project presents an exciting opportunity to shape housing, health, education, and economic development strategies that meet the collective needs of Tulalip community members.

To achieve this goal, Big Water will conduct a comprehensive community needs assessment to collect data about:

  • Household and individual demographic information,

  • Current housing conditions and expenses,

  • Future housing needs and preferences,

  • Household income and finances,

  • Public works and economic development, and

  • Culture & language, among other things.

The Tulalip Reservation, located on the western edge of Snohomish County and bordering a busy section of Interstate-5, is a hub for tribal workers and their families. Throughout the last century and beyond, the Tulalip Tribes have established and maintained deep roots in the coastal area of the northeastern Puget Sound region.
