Project Description

The Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe (PGST) established a seven-member Enrollment Eligibility Committee to consider changes to the current member enrollment eligibility criteria and provide recommendations to the Tribal Council. The Enrollment Eligibility Committee worked with demographers to analyze data and generate Tribal population projections under various eligibility requirements. To this end, the Committee helped the demographers conduct a survey and collect relevant information including member blood quantum, birth location, current location, fertility, and life expectancy data. The demographers also conducted interviews with Tribal programs to understand the potential impacts of increased membership.
